4. The strand of words relating to youth is significant because Laura Miller wants to emphasize the differences between youth dystopian novels and adult dystopian novels. Dystopian novels written for children are focused more on what's happening in the moment for the young reader. 

5. Miller uses a lot of negative language to describe the environment in a dystopian novel (exploitative, monster-filled, brainwashed, apocalyptic, toxic). However, when describing the Hunger Games she used words like honor, glamorous, sumptuous, and wondrous. This binary may be used to show that dystopians written for children offer a glimmer of hope.
