4. The negative strand exploitative, conform, etc. is important to Miller's article "Fresh Hell" because the accurately describe how many dystopias operate, but they also describe how many teenagers feel; hence the popularity of dystopian literature among teens. This is a result of the growing problems in the world and how teen-agers have become more and more sheltered, which in turn, causes them to crave more freedom and adventure and rebellion.
5. Even though their world has become more restricting as noted by the strand above, Miller says that teenagers have found solace in turbulent dystopian literature. Through it, they can experience the triumphs and tribulations of the main character (many very similar to their own) as he or she battles through the confirmative, restricting world they have been placed in, to a greater hope of freedom and happiness. Teenagers have found freedom through dystopian literature, and will continue to do so according to Miller.
