The source that I have chosen is the The Host. It was recommended to me by a friend and I started to read summaries about it and it seemed very interesting.
The Host is about an invasion on Earth by parasitic aliens, called "the Souls," that take over humans' bodies to survive, causing the humans to lose their consciousness. One of the Souls, Wonderer, possesses Melanie Stryder. The difference between this possession and the rest of them is that Melanie does not lose her consciousness and Wonderer, later named Wanda by Melanie's uncle, is able to communicate with her host. Seeing and feeling how humans do with the influence of Melanie, Wanda starts to sympathize for them and learns to love the humans, especially Melanie's brother and boyfriend. Humans start deciding to cut the Souls out of their bodies, killing both the host and the parasite and so Wanda runs away. She finds another group of Souls who have the same objectives and she soon starts to fall in love with another Soul, Lan. Humans eventually accept Wanda and she is allowed to live in peace with Lan.
