I have chosen to use "The 100" as my primary source. "The 100" is a dystopian TV show that is on the CW. It is about a world where society was faced with a nuclear war so all the countries teamed up and sent everyone to live in space. Now, about 100 years later, the space station is running low on resources so they send 12 juvenile delinquents back down to Earth to be sure that it is safe and inhabitable. The show is about their journey back to Earth and the good and bad that they must deal with while back on Earth, including interactions with new animals and humans that have survived on Earth the last 100 years. This will fit my interests with the dystopian genre because it explores the possible real- life situations of the after- effects of a nuclear war along with human relationships plus the implications of relationships (LQBT+) and ultimately, survival. This show has female main characters in many of the main roles, including chancellor and queen. It also explores lesbian, gay and bisexual relationship without explicitly ousting those characters as a distinct sexuality.
