3. This article begins by discussing the common beliefs for why women are not in STEM careers. These common beliefs include environmental, biological, and ability to raise a family. The article then goes on to discuss the scientific explanations for these reasons and why they are true, as well as what they leave unanswered. The article concludes by saying that there is some truth behind all of these beliefs, however they all partially contribute to the lack of women in STEM careers.
4. This article discusses that by limiting women so that they believe they cannot succeed in STEM fields can actually limit the scientific discoveries in the future. Even if women have bright ideas about STEM fields, they are "encouraged" to go into a humanities field so that they can someday take time off of work more easily to be there for their children, however this is actually limiting the number of people and variety of ideas in the STEM fields and can be harmful in the long run.
