In his Preface, Moylan focuses solely on dystopian novels. he discusses their themes and how they reflect modern societies fears, However, Williams focuses more on dystopian films and how Hollywood portrays dystopia. Moylan's tone is more analytical whereas Williams has a more praising appeal to the movie.
