- The scene I have chosen is from the hunger games when the gamemaker makes the announcement that the previous rule edit is dismissed and only one person can be crowned the winner. Katniss and Peetah are about to take the poisonous berries and stop anyone from winning.
Observation #1: When the gamemaker first starts talking, the camera immediately pans towards Katniss looking around and then drawing an arrow on her bow
Observation #2: When the gamemaker first starts talking, Katniss and Peetah are roaming their heads around in the sky but when he says only one can be victor they both stop and glance at each other
Observation #3: After the gamemaker stops speaking, the camera zooms in on Katniss and her facial expression
Observation #4: Katniss drops her bow and moves towards Peetah and they are one within the shot
Observation #5: The camera zooms in on the berries when Katniss pulls them out
Observation #6: After pulling the berries out, Peetahs facial expression is shown
Observation #7: The camera shows the audiences watching as well as a worried gamemaker when they decided to eat the berries "together"
Observaton #8: Emphasis is on Katniss when thy start counting down to eat the berries and she is not looking at Peetah but up towards the sky
Observation #9: When they get to 2 in the countdown, Peetah grabs Katniss's hair gently
Obersvation #10: Katniss and Peetah are both in the same shot when they go towards their mouths after counting to 3

Implication #1: Katniss is always ready for what is to come
Implication #2: Katniss is still skeptical of winning because of what she just went through
Implication #3: Peetah has no weapon and it makes Katniss appear dominant in the scene
Implication #4: Although Peetah and Katniss have developed a new love, Katniss wielding the bow represent aggression and the viewer is not positive what she will do with it
Implication #5: Katniss has always been against the idea of the hunger games
Implication #6: Since it zoomed in on Katniss first, one would assume she will win the games
Implication #7: Katniss is shown as the main character

Implication #4: Katniss has been one step ahead of the game most of the movie

Implication #6: The smarts Katniss possess makes her an appealing feminist leader

This scene is representative of a main character discovering the harsh reality of the dystopia they are in and doing something about it. Katniss knows that if she does not make a stand, they will just keep on having hunger games and nothing will change. She knows that the whole world is watching including the capital and makes a bold stand in attempt to stop the madness. She would have shocked the world is they both died but she did still change up the game and became the first time in hunger games history were two people were crowned winners.
