Both Williams and Moylan frequently talk about human nature as a whole, while they tend to delve deeper into aspects of human nature. They talk of the arts and the culture of society and how they affect dystopia as a genre. Williams and Moylan enforce the idea that dystopia is meant to bring change to mind. While they both comment on human nature, Williams questions the idea of humanity and what it is that defines it. Moylan tends to focus on individuality and the idea of independence and identity. Williams is writing in a magazine with a slight informality in his structure while Moylan is writing his preface to his book his formality is clear cut but to the point. Moylan addresses human nature critically and cites various other stories and authors while Williams' piece focuses on using Blade Runner as evidence. Both authors are roughly writing on the same era of dystopian literature and therefore share some of their conclusions, as they are analyzing the same form of pieces.
