1. In this scene of Mad Max: Fury Road, the corrupt ruler has just realized his "breeders" (women who serve the sole purpose of birthing babies) have escaped. An older woman informs him that they plan to go far away and tells him "you cannot own a human being".

2. Observation 1: There color scheme alters from red, orange and yellow to black, blue, white and grey.
Observation 2: "We are not things" is written on the wall behind the older woman.
Observation 3: The ruler's face is largely covered by his mask.
Observation 4: The ruler has a very deep, manly voice but the woman's is much softer even when she yells at him.
Observation 5: The ruler's footsteps are loud and heavy.
Observation 6: Most people have scars on their faces.
Observation 7: The underground area is very rocky and almost natural looking, despite the other futuristic aspects.

3. Observation 1: The color scheme alters.
Implication 1: The red, orange and yellow hues are violent.
Implication 2: The black, blue, white and grey hues are more serious.
Implication 3: The darker colors suggest a darkness had come upon the people.
Implication 4: The darker colors are more ominous.
Implication 5: The darker colors might suggest death is to come.
Implication 6: The darker colors suggest a fearful tone, more so than brighter, more natural colors.
Implication 7: Changing the color scheme changes the mood and projects negative emotions.

4. This scene represents the concept of portreying emotions through film in a number of different ways. Instead of just relying on the script and tone of voice to show the darkness that overcame during this scene, the director used color to help viewers understand the mood and really feel it with the characters.
